Family Time: Quality vs Quantity
Abraham Lincoln has been attributed as saying, “Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.” While circumstance left to chance may lead to chaos, desire often determines the destiny! Translation? I think “Honest Abe” recognized the necessity of deciding what is really important and living your life to that end. One of the 7 habits of Stephen Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” encourages us to “Begin With The End In Mind.” The time we spend with our family HAS TO take precedence over everything else.
Quality or Quantity…Which One?
Since time is such a priceless commodity, we find ourselves having to choose between quality time as opposed to quantity time. Personally, I don’t think you can sacrifice very much quantity time because the quality happens somewhere within the quantity. In other words, you can’t dictate quality time! BUT, as parents and caregivers we want to maximize our efforts relative to our resources. And to throw a monkey wrench into the whole thing, it should be noted that quality is not often defined by the adults, but by the children. Let that sink in. So what is the fine line between enough quantitative time and qualitative time? Jay Banks Productions will help each participant figure this one out! This presentation is an excellent parent/family program.
